Beijing Daily | Dane Lam and the London Philharmonic open the Beijing Music Festival’s opera programme

The 29th Beijing Music Festival opened its opera programme with a new staging of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, directed by Shuang Zou and co-produced by Opera Hong Kong, State Opera South Australia, the Beijing Music Festival and the China National Opera House, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the pit as the festival’s orchestra-in-residence. Beijing Daily reported that Dane Lam “precisely marshalled” the LPO (translated), and noted that the production is the first opera co-produced by China and Australia.
