Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

This website, danelam.net, is run by Dane Lam. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it.

What the site collects

Contact forms. If you use a form on this site, such as the one on the Teaching page, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. The form sends them to Dane Lam by email; they are not stored on the website. We use them only to reply to you and never add you to a mailing list.

Spam protection. The site uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from bots. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you use the page and sends it to Google. Its use is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Fonts. The site’s fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.

Embedded video. Some pages include videos from Vimeo and YouTube. These behave as if you had visited those sites directly: they may set cookies, collect data and record how you interact with the video.

No analytics or advertising tracking. The site does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any other visitor-tracking tools.

Cookies

The site itself sets cookies only when an administrator logs in. Comments are switched off. Google reCAPTCHA, Vimeo and YouTube may set their own cookies, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who your information is shared with

We never sell or rent your information. It is handled only by the services that run the site: our web host, our email provider, Google (reCAPTCHA and Fonts), and Vimeo and YouTube (embedded video).

How long it is kept

Messages sent through a form are kept in email for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop using it. Email info@danelam.net and we will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, Australia or California), local law may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the way the site handles information changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
